Flight School

Learn to Fly the helicopter

Helispin Flight School is born from the idea of enthusiastic professionals in aeronautic field who want to offer to everyone getting closer to the wonderful world of flight, following the new European guidelines and able to issue civil pilot licences JAR-FLC. Our aim is to create a real School of life and of aeronautical culture that could really enrich the cultural baggage of it’s students, thanks to the organization of captivating initiatives (for example thematic meetings, air festivals, etc.). Moreover, it’s essential to offer to the aspiring pilot the chance to become familiar with the operating procedure briefly, in order to be able to safely act in the aeronautical world.

Private Pilot Licence for Helicopter- PPL(H)

The helicopter private pilot licence PPL(H) is the first European civil pilot licence for rotorcraft. It allows to fly in the national territory and abroad, upon a certificate of proficiency in English, with non-paying passengers aboard. In order to start a training course aimed to it’s achievement, it’s necessary to be 16 years old; on the 17th birthday it’s possible to take the ENAC exam.
For minors it’s necessary a consent by the people who exercise the parental responsibility or guardianship. To join the course, the aspiring pilot must undergo a medical examination to determine his psychological and physical suitability at the Legal Medicine Institute of Air Force. The school will arrange the booking of the examination and will inform the person about the procedure to be followed. Once the examination is passed, he will be able to enrol on PPL(H) course at the flight school and become officially a student: the training process with the instructor begins at this point. The minimum training necessary to take the ministerial theoretical and practical exam for rotorcraft consists of 45 hours of flights, divided into 35 hours of dual controls with instructor (D.C.) and 10 hours of single pilot (S.P.).
The practical lessons can be completely customized: the student will schedule directly with the instructor dates and times of trainings, which will begin with a pre-flight briefing and will end with a debriefing. The theoretical course is cyclical and this allows the inclusion of new students in every moment; this course consists of group evening lessons in the classroom of the flight school. The actual duration of theoretical and practical course can vary from 6 months up to about 12 months. Once the exam is (HAS BEEN) passed, the student will receive the helicopter private pilot licence from the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC). The aircraft used in our school is a Robinson R22, the best-selling helicopter in the world and the most-used for educational purposes, called for this reason “World’s Helicopter Classroom”.

Building hours for the Commercial Pilot Training (CPL-H)

In order to begin the course for the commercial pilot licence (CPL-H), it’s necessary to have collected 155 hours of flights, of which at least 50 as pilot in command (PIC). To help the people interested in this licence, the school offers specific flight hours “packages”. Moreover, our school will follow the new pilot during the period necessary to complete the intermediate hours, checking periodically his competence. The school will also organize transfers to several airports and, if required, the pilot could be supported by an instructor.
